Why this page exists

The peptide space is loud. TikTok creators post before-and-after photos. Reddit threads treat anecdote as data. Vendors write their own glowing product descriptions. Peptide Gal exists to hold all of that against what the actual published research says, and to be honest when the research is thin.

That job only means something if you know exactly how we do it. This page explains our evidence standards, our sourcing rules, who writes and reviews the content, how we handle corrections, and how we stay independent from the vendors we cover.

How we grade the evidence

Every compound article on this site assigns an explicit evidence tier to each claim. We do not blend tiers together or let a promising animal study carry the weight of a human trial. The four tiers we use are listed below, and we name the tier in the article every time.

Tier 1 is a human randomized controlled trial (RCT), the strongest form of evidence we cite. Tier 2 is a small human study or open-label trial, which can point toward an effect but cannot confirm it. Tier 3 is an animal study, usually rodent, which tells us a mechanism might exist in mammals but says very little about what happens in people. Tier 4 is in-vitro research, meaning cell cultures or lab assays, which is hypothesis-generating at best.

Most peptides discussed on this site have Tier 3 or Tier 4 evidence. We say that plainly. When a compound has only been tested in rats or in a petri dish, we do not write as though human outcomes are established. Readers deserve to know the difference before they make any decisions.

We pull primary sources from PubMed (pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov), ClinicalTrials.gov, and the FDA (fda.gov). Every URL in our articles is verified before publication. We do not cite press releases, vendor white papers, or secondary summaries as primary evidence.

  • Tier 1: Human RCT. Strongest. Explicitly labeled.
  • Tier 2: Small human study or open-label trial. Promising but not confirmatory.
  • Tier 3: Animal study. Mechanistic signal only; human translation unproven.
  • Tier 4: In-vitro. Early-stage hypothesis, not an outcome.

A note on regulatory status

Many peptides covered on this site are research compounds. That means they are not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for human use. When a compound has an FDA-approved pharmaceutical form, we name the specific approved drug and note that research-chemical versions carrying the same active ingredient are not the same product and do not carry that approval. We never state or imply that a research compound is equivalent to a prescription drug.

How we evaluate vendors

Vendor coverage follows a separate checklist from compound coverage. We look at whether a vendor publishes current certificates of analysis from an independent third-party lab, whether those certificates show the compound, purity percentage, and testing date, and whether the lab performing the analysis is named and verifiable.

We also look at how a vendor describes its products. Vendors that make disease-treatment claims, imply FDA approval for unapproved compounds, or use before-and-after testimonials in ways that suggest guaranteed outcomes get flagged in our coverage. We note those practices directly.

Peptide Gal accepts no payment from vendors in exchange for favorable coverage. Vendors do not review articles before publication. If a vendor we have covered contacts us to dispute a factual claim, we investigate using primary sources and issue a correction if the evidence supports one.

Who writes and reviews this content

Each article carries a named author and a named medical reviewer. Author credentials and reviewer credentials are listed on their respective profile pages. The medical reviewer checks compound-specific claims against cited sources before an article publishes.

When we get something wrong, we correct it. Corrections are noted at the top of the affected article with a date and a plain description of what changed. We do not quietly edit errors and pretend the original version never existed.
