Peptide Gal exists to hold the TikTok and Reddit hype cycle up to the actual science. That means every article is framed as educational and informational content only. Nothing published here is medical advice, and nothing here should be read as a recommendation to take, inject, or otherwise use any compound.

Many peptides covered on this site are research chemicals. They have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for human use. Where a compound has an FDA-approved pharmaceutical form, such as semaglutide sold as Wegovy or Ozempic, we name the approved brand specifically and note that research-chemical versions of the same molecule are not approved. We do not blur that line.

Readers who are curious about any compound discussed here should bring those questions to a licensed healthcare provider who knows their full medical history. That is not a legal disclaimer buried in fine print. It is the actual point.

How We Evaluate Evidence

Not all studies are equal, and we say so plainly in every article. We use four tiers when describing the evidence behind any claim.

The strongest tier is a human randomized controlled trial (RCT), where participants are randomly assigned to a treatment or placebo and outcomes are measured under controlled conditions. Below that sits a small human study, meaning a human trial without randomization, a very small sample, or a single-arm design where everyone receives the same treatment. Below that is animal research, typically rodent studies, which can generate useful hypotheses but cannot be extrapolated directly to humans. The lowest tier for our purposes is in-vitro research, meaning experiments done on cells in a lab dish. In-vitro findings are early-stage signals, not evidence that something works in a living person.

Most peptide research currently sits in the animal or in-vitro tiers. We say that plainly, every time, rather than letting a promising rat study do the work of a human clinical trial in our headlines.

  • Animal study: labeled as preclinical, not extrapolated to humans
  • In-vitro: labeled as early-stage cell research only

Where Our Sources Come From

We source from primary literature wherever possible. That means PubMed-indexed journal abstracts and full texts, ClinicalTrials.gov registration records, and official FDA communications. We cite real PMIDs and real NCT numbers. Every URL in our source lists is verified before publication. A dead or invented link is treated as a sourcing failure, not a minor formatting issue.

We do not cite vendor websites, supplement brand blogs, or press releases as evidence for efficacy claims. We may reference them when covering what a company is claiming, but we label that clearly as a marketing claim rather than scientific evidence.

Secondary sources such as review articles and meta-analyses are used to provide context, but we trace their underlying citations back to primary data before repeating any specific finding.

Who Writes and Reviews Our Content

Articles are written by our senior staff writer and reviewed by a named medical professional before publication. The reviewer's credentials and any relevant disclosures are listed on the article. We do not use anonymous bylines for health content.

If a factual error is identified after publication, we correct it with a visible correction notice at the top of the article. The notice states what was wrong, what the correction is, and when it was made. We do not quietly edit errors out of published text without acknowledgment.
